Sometimes I get so wrapped up in the tools I use to create music, that I forget to actually create music. There’s always new plug-ins, awesome tips and tricks on YouTube, app reviews for project management, the newsletters, the merchandise, the album artwork.
But none of those are really my job. My job is to write. My job is to be the person that sees through all of the gimmicks and sits at my piano and writes. The more I play, the happier I feel, and the stronger my chance of success is. It isn’t about tracking my numbers, or increasing engagement, it’s about writing.
